The Dan Rosenberg Recreation Fund was established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Daniel Rosenberg, a beloved professor, mentor, and lifelong advocate for sport and recreation. For more than a half century, Dan inspired students, athletes and colleagues through his passion for sports, commitment to mentorship and his belief in the power of recreation to bring people together.
Beginning as a teenager, Dan worked as a camp counselor with Wellfleet Recreation where he first made a lasting impact in the community. His lifelong connection to the program never wavered as he continued to show his support through volunteering in our Summer Program teaching tennis, training our tennis instructors and supporting the department in countless ways. Dan's love of live music made him a familiar and welcome presence at nearly every Music at Mayo performance each summer, further embodying his deep connection to the community he cared so much for.
Dan believed that sports and recreation build community, develop character and create lifelong memories. Whether in the classroom, on the court, or mentoring future leaders in the sports industry, he dedicated his life to helping others grow.
This fund will support recreational opportunities and programs that reflect Dan’s passion for sport, community, and mentorship. Through these experiences and within the spirit of play, the connection and leadership that Dan championed will continue to impact others for generations to come.
Below are the donation opportunities that The Dan Rosenberg Recreation Fund offers. Contributions will go directly to the selected fund and are always greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support.

Donations will be used for any purpose Wellfleet Recreation may need such as new equipment, community events and scholarships that can be applied to sports, our Summer Program or field trips.
